Cumulus PR bags the only gold for India at the Cannes Lions International Festival 2019

Gurgaon based Cumulus PR has won a Gold Lion at the just concluded Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. Cannes Lions is the global benchmark for effective creative marketing communications. 

Cumulus’ work for The Open Door Project by The Millennium School (a brand Cumulus has been associated with since 2012) in collaboration with FCB Ulka earlier in the month had already received two awards at theKyoorius Creative Awards 2019. 

The campaign received recognition at the biggest level with a Bronze Lion (Brand Activation category) and Cannes Gold Lion (Sustainable Development Goal/Quality Education category) at Cannes Lion International Festival 2019, which is the only Gold win for India this year!

The Open Door Project is a path-breaking initiative of The Millennium School to open its portals to disadvantaged children from surrounding and neighbouring areas after school hours, The Open Door Project wants to ensure that children from slums and the areas around are offered similar facilities and education as children from well off families who make up the roster in the schools – same teaching standards, same facilities, same quality of education. 

An effective PR campaign and social outreach to influencers, including NGOs working in the education sector, was designed to garner support for this newly launched initiative that has the potential to help mitigate the crisis of over 8 million out-of-school kids in India.
