My Mantra to rise above the COVID Lockdown.
This article is part of the series #SupportEachOther, a campaign through which PRCAI aims to bring PR professionals from diverse verticals and different levels of experience onto a common platform for discussion. By spreading awareness and the use of storytelling, we aim to destigmatize mental health issues within the PR industry and start a dialogue to help and #SupportEachOther, in the midst of various professional challenges we are confronting because of the COVID19 pandemic crisis.
- I personally believe that we need to take this one day at a time and while it’s wise to think about the contingencies, obsessing about the uncertainties on so many levels should be consciously kept at bay. My focus each day is to just do today right.
- Serotonin is good company during times of distress, so working out for a few minutes everyday will help clean up the clutter that our minds create subconsciously and will help you stay motivated and focussed on resolutions.
- Opening up to your loved ones and talking to them about your worst fears during such times is in my opinion a great comforter. It is not always about seeking advice but just about letting out those anxiety ridden thoughts that need to leave your system.
- Take a few minutes to laugh. It must be on top of your agenda everyday. Whatever it is that triggers that, just do it. It is important to ward off the sense of repression that the lockdown has brought about.
